Position Description: CommIT Enterprises, Inc. provides PMW 230 with Functional Experts and Field Service Representative/ Trainers that support Marine Corps Maintenance, Supply, Financial and System Administration; and Field Service Representatives. Services include specializing in disadvantaged (e.g. deployed shipboard environments) and disconnected (e.g. tactical environments) networking environments to ensure Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps/Logistics Chain Management (GCSS-MC/LCM) services and capabilities align with Marine Corps processes, policy and procedures.
Functions include, but are not limited to contributing to and reviewing technical and operational requirements documentation, supporting development and deployment of services, system performance monitoring, identifying and documenting system performance problems, knowledge transfer and training, supply and maintenance readiness analysis and reporting, supporting the GCSS-MC/LCM Service Desk and problem escalation process, responding to Fleet assistance requests, resolving Fleet issues regarding GCSS-MC/LCM performance and conducting Government testing to verify Material Developer / System Integrator (MD / SI) solutions.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related scientific or technical discipline.
Substitution: Education may be substituted with ten (10) years of Marine Corps / Navy shipboard data/networking technology experience. Five (5) of the ten (10) years must be within the last eight (8) years.
Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years’ work experience with shipboard, tactical and garrison communications and information technology networks. Three (3) of the eight (8) years must be within the last five (5) years.
Experience with Wide Area Network acceleration / optimization technologies to include Riverbed and SteelHead equipment and client software. Knowledge of Marine Corps and Navy deployed command structures in order to provide effective communication and implementation of network settings and protocols to maximize GCSS-MC performance.
Demonstrated capability to communicate with Marine and Navy Communicators to establish or troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Provide Ability to provide over-the-shoulder optimization training.
Ability to conduct analysis of optimization performance metrics and capabilities and report issues.
